Geetika Sawhney is a counselling psychologist whose work sits at the intersection of nature, play, and existential-humanistic therapy. Their practice is trauma-informed, queer-trans affirmative, and shaped by a rights-based lens that critically engages with the language of "disorder" and "disability" rather than taking it as given. Nature-based work is central to their contribution to the field. Their Master's research, supported by a micro-Grant, was a phenomenological inquiry into lived experiences of nature-based interaction and its implications for therapeutic practice.

As an independent consultant and psychotherapist, they have designed disability-inclusive, gender-affirming support spaces grounded in nature and play, and have led nature-based programming reaching over 500 clients and 250 additional youth and adults through community initiatives across Bengaluru.

They currently serve on the Lived Experience Advisory Board Member as a part of collaborative project with Harvard Medical School's Mental Health for All Lab, and as Co-Chairperson (Asia/Oceania) for aves Mental Health's Country Leadership Committee. Their published research includes work on lived experience responses to disinformation campaigns (PLOS Mental Health, 2025). Geetika holds an M.Sc. in Counselling Psychology from Christ (Deemed to be) University and a B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology from Lady Shri Ram College for Women. They are committed to building accessible, ecologically-conscious models of community mental health care.
