Ian B. Kerr has been an NHS consultant psychiatrist and psychotherapist in London, Sheffield and Lanarkshire in the UK, and currently works in Northland-Te Tau Tokerau, New Zealand-Aotearoa.

He undertook a wide range of psychotherapy trainings and trained in cognitive analytic therapy (CAT) with Anthony Ryle with whom he worked closely over many years. His clinical and research interests centre around psychotherapy integration, on working with ‘severe and complex’ and ‘difficult’ clinical presentations including systemically and cross-culturally, and on the socio-relational determinants of mental health.
